Healing Trauma With Yoga
Monday Feb 09, 2026
Monday Feb 09, 2026
In this heartfelt episode of Conversations That Heal, Dr. Stephanie Diane Jeffreys sits down with Liz Albanis, senior yoga teacher and host of Yoga for Trauma: The Inner Fire of Yoga, to explore how trauma truly lives in the body not just the mind.
After surviving childhood sexual assault, miscarriage, the loss of her mother, and two house fires, Liz shares how traditional yoga wasn’t always healing and how trauma-informed, somatic practices helped her reconnect safely with her body. We talk about nervous system healing, trauma tremors, pacing, consent, and why small, gentle practices can be more powerful than pushing through.
If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body or overwhelmed by “performative healing,” this conversation is for you.
Healing doesn’t require force. It requires safety.

The dependable one.

They Are Not Your Responsibility
There comes a moment in healing when you realize that love does not require self-abandonment.
In today’s episode of Conversations That Heal, we’re talking about one of the hardest truths to accept: they are not your responsibility.
Not their healing.
Not their choices.
Not their emotional regulation.
Not the outcomes of their lives.
If you’ve been the fixer, the caretaker, the emotional anchor, or the one who feels guilty for choosing yourself, this conversation is for you. We unpack how trauma, survival patterns, and learned roles can quietly convince you that it’s your job to carry others, even when it costs you your peace.
This episode is about releasing misplaced responsibility, breaking cycles of overgiving, and giving yourself permission to step out of roles you were never meant to hold.
You can love people deeply without saving them.
You can care without carrying.
You can choose yourself without being cruel.
If this episode resonates, I invite you to sit with what comes up, and when you’re ready, take the next step in your healing journey.

I Don't Know
Monday Jan 12, 2026
Monday Jan 12, 2026
There’s a season of life no one talks about, the “I don’t know” season.
The space where grief, life changes, failed relationships, and old wounds collide. The place where certainty fades and you’re left trying to figure out who you are now and what comes next.
In this episode, I talk honestly about navigating the “I don’t know” season—the discomfort, the questions, the loss, and the quiet healing that begins even when clarity hasn’t arrived yet.
If you’ve been feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step, this conversation is for you. You’re not broken, you’re becoming. If you’re ready for support as you move through your own “I don’t know” season, you can schedule a one-on-one healing conversation with me here:

Welcome to 2026

What if gratitude wasn’t just about thanking people for what they gave you, but also for what they couldn’t?
In this episode, I share the thank-you notes I wrote for 2026… and they aren’t the kind you’d expect.
I thanked people for not prioritizing me.
For not showing up.
For giving the bare minimum.
For being exactly who they were.
For not having the capacity to be who they told me they were.
These thank-you notes weren’t written from bitterness.
They were written from clarity.
Because sometimes the greatest gift someone gives you is information.
Information that frees you from expectations.
Information that teaches you where to stop overextending.
Information that invites you to choose yourself, without guilt.
This conversation explores emotional maturity, radical acceptance, and learning how to release resentment without minimizing your own needs. It’s about using gratitude as a tool for healing, not self-betrayal.
I invite you to join me in this practice.
Comment your own thank-you note and share the topic of what you’re thanking someone for.
